Step 1: Prepare the Mozzarella

Slice the mozzarella ball into sticks (about finger size).

Pat them dry with a paper towel so the coating sticks better.
Step 2: Bread the Cheese

Beat the egg in a bowl.

Place breadcrumbs in another bowl.
Coating process:

Dip mozzarella stick in egg

Roll in breadcrumbs
-
Dip again in egg
-
Roll again in breadcrumbs
This double coating helps prevent the cheese from leaking.
